Scottish Deep Brain Stimulation

The Scottish Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Service is based in Glasgow and takes referrals from across Scotland. DBS can be used as a treatment for some people with movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Tremor or Dystonia whose condition is inadequately treated with medication. This website is for people who have been referred or are considering DBS as a treatment for their condition, or who have had a device implanted and are looking for care advice or contact information. Medical staff can also find useful information about DBS including a referral form or urgent care advice.

The content has been developed and approved by Dr Vicky Marshall, Consultant Neurologist, Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow and the NHS Scotland Deep brain stimulation service.
